We are always in need of volunteers who are willing to positively impact the children that we serve.

After School Program

We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2022!

Our after-school program is an opportunity to provide academic support, and build relationships with children K-5 who are experiencing homelessness. As an after-school volunteer you will empower students through learning, and have fun along the way! Volunteers assist in facilitating our easy-to-follow curriculum. The curriculum includes: homework help, literacy support & enrichment (ex. STEAM activities). Volunteers will work with 1 to 3 children at a time depending on the number of students at the site. r of students at the site.

TIME COMMITMENT

The program takes place in one of our partnering shelters for a designated two-hours, Monday-Thursday. We ask that volunteers select a site and consistent day of the week that they will volunteer for the entirety of the program semester. Through your commitment, you will build stronger relationships with the students we serve.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or GED
Must attend a mandatory training orientation
Must pass a background check
Must be comfortable working with multiple students in an occasional fast-paced environment
Must commit to one session (2 hours) per week for the duration of the semester

Literacy Leaders Program

We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2022!

Our Literacy Leaders program is an opportunity to work one-on-one with a middle-school-aged student to improve their literacy skills and academic confidence, while simultaneously developing a passion for reading. The curriculum includes: homework help, literacy support & enrichment (STEAM activities).Volunteers will have an opportunity to facilitate enrichment activities and learning experiences that reflect each child's needs and interests.

Summer Enrichment Program

We are currently no longer accepting applications for Summer 2022.

Our summer program provides literacy support and enrichment for children at the shelters to prevent academic regression. Program meets 4 days a week for two hours and includes: Nutrition, Art, Music, Around the World and STEM activities.

TIME COMMITMENT
The program takes place in one of our partnering shelters for a designated two-hours, Monday-Thursday. We ask that volunteer let us know which days and locations they are interested in volunteering for the entirety of the program semester (June 29 to August 6). Through your commitment, you will build stronger relationships with the students we serve.

Must attend a mandatory training and orientation
Must pass a background check
Must be comfortable working with multiple students in an occasional
fast-paced environment
Must commit to one session (2 hours) per week for the duration of the semester
